After registration, you will receive an API token by email. Then download the app from the official Meta Quest 3 store page: https://www.meta.com/experiences/xiora/25868913799365084/.
When you launch the app, the setup screen will appear—just enter your API token, choose your preferred language, and press Start. You’re ready to begin.
Conversations with avatars are supported in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.
• The Free Plan includes 10 minutes of daily conversation with the Premier voice but no customization.
• The Standard Plan provides 30 minutes per day with the Basic voice and partial customization. It also supports random appearance changes on startup using the outfits and hairstyles available in the Standard tier.
• The Pro Plan offers 60 minutes per day with the Premier voice, full customization, and the Mixed Reality view as an additional conversation context option. Pro users can also switch to 19 calm virtual locations designed for relaxed, focused conversations. Random appearance changes on startup use the full set of unlocked outfits and hairstyles available only to Pro users.
This usually means an error message is shown near the top of the registration page. Please scroll up and check the red error message — it will tell you exactly what needs to be fixed. The most common causes are:
• A Username format issue (Usernames must use lowercase letters and numbers only)
• A password rule issue
• A missing required checkbox (18+ confirmation or Terms of Service)
• reCAPTCHA not completed
After fixing the issue shown in the red message, please submit the form again. If you still can’t complete registration, please contact us and include a screenshot of the red error message so we can assist you quickly.
In most cases, this is due to a mistyped email address during registration. Please try registering again and carefully double-check your email address.
Also, be sure to check your Spam, Promotions, and All Mail folders, especially if you are using Gmail.
If you still don’t receive the email, please contact us with your registered email address and we will assist you.
After you verify your email, your API token is sent to your email. Please check Spam, Promotions, and All Mail. If you still cannot find it, contact us and include your registered email address (and your username if possible), and we will help you.
On the Xiora app startup screen, you must enter your API token, not your website password. Your password is only for logging in to the website. The app activation requires the API token that is issued after email verification. If you enter your password instead of the token, the app will not activate.
If you have multiple Xiora accounts, this issue can occur when the Xiora account you were logged into during payment is different from the account you are using in the app. If your plan does not upgrade immediately after a Stripe or PayPal payment, please check that:
• The Xiora account used during checkout, and
• The Username shown on the app’s initial screen
are the same account.
Stripe and PayPal support instant upgrades when the correct account is used. Payments made via Wise are processed manually and may take additional time. If you are unsure which account was used, please contact Xiora Support and we will be happy to help.

In most cases, this happens because microphone permission is not enabled. Xiora requires microphone access to respond to voice prompts and conversations.
If microphone permission is denied at the system level, the avatar may appear on screen but will not be able to hear or speak, which can make the app feel unresponsive. Please check the following:
•Open Meta Quest system settings
•Go to Permissions
•Make sure Microphone access is enabled for Xiora
•Restart the app after changing the setting
Once microphone permission is granted, voice interaction should work normally. If the issue continues after confirming this, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Xiora currently uses a push-to-talk system. To speak to the avatar, please hold the controller trigger while talking, then release it to send your voice. This design helps prevent accidental activation from background noise and ensures clear, intentional voice input. The basic flow is:
• Hold the controller trigger
• Speak clearly
• Release the trigger to send
At this time, hands-free voice input is not supported. We are exploring more flexible voice interaction options for the future.
Browser integration lets Xiora use what you are looking at as conversation context. If Context Source is set to Browser screenshot, Xiora uses a clear capture of the VR browser. If set to Mixed Reality view, it uses an MR snapshot of your room. The VR browser may appear in the MR view as well, but not as clearly as the dedicated browser screenshot.
The VR browser allows you to view bookmarks, but adding, editing, or deleting them cannot be done inside the app. You can manage your bookmarks from the official site: https://xiora.com/bookmarks.
Some websites restrict sign-ins from embedded or non-standard browsers for security reasons. This can include services like Gmail or certain Google-related logins. This behavior is controlled by the website itself, not by Xiora. Xiora’s VR browser is designed mainly for browsing, reading, comparing information, and discussing content together rather than for account management or secure logins. You can still freely browse most public pages, articles, videos, and product sites without logging in.
Bond Levels let your relationship with the avatar grow naturally over time. The more days you talk, the more the avatar remembers your presence and becomes warmer and more personal with you. Your companion gradually moves through four stages:
• Stage 0 – Polite
• Stage 1 – Friendly
• Stage 2 – Caring and affectionate
• Stage 3 – Deeply bonded and emotionally expressive
Bond grows a little each day you interact, and even small daily conversations help. It is available on all plans, including Free, so anyone can enjoy watching the relationship evolve at their own pace.
Yes. Up to 1,000 conversations are saved on your device for each avatar. The most recent 100 are stored in detail, while older ones are summarized. You can review past chats or continue from where you left off. They are never saved on the server.
Yes. Conversation logs are saved only on your device and never on the server. Only your usage status (plan and remaining time) is managed on the server.
Conversation time is measured based on the actual speaking duration of the avatar, not the time the app is simply running.
You can wait until the next day (based on Hong Kong time) when your daily time automatically resets. If you would like to extend your daily talk time, please consider upgrading to a higher plan. The Standard Plan allows up to 30 minutes per day, and the Pro Plan allows up to 60 minutes per day with the highest-quality voice and full customization features.
Nothing special happens when your Free plan expires. There is no automatic charge, no renewal, and no action required from you. Your account will simply remain inactive unless you decide to upgrade to a paid plan later. If Xiora is not a good fit for you and you would like your account to be permanently deleted, please contact us from your registered email address and let us know. We will take care of it for you.
If you are on the Free Plan, go to https://xiora.com/upgrade, sign in, and purchase Standard Plan or Pro Plan. If you already have an active Standard Plan or Pro Plan, mid-cycle changes are not supported and checkout links will not appear. To move tiers immediately, please register a new account with a different email and subscribe there; otherwise wait until your current access expires and then purchase the other plan. No refunds or pro-rated adjustments.
Changing plans (for example, from the Standard Plan to the Pro Plan) during your current subscription period is not supported. If you wish to upgrade, please cancel your current subscription and subscribe to the new plan after your current access expires. Alternatively, you may register a new account with a different email address for immediate upgrade. Even if you cancel your subscription, access will remain active until the expiration date. Please note that we do not offer refunds or pro-rated adjustments under any circumstances.
You can cancel your subscription from the Cancellation section at the bottom of the following page: https://xiora.com/upgrade Please scroll down to the Cancellation section and choose the option that matches your payment method (Stripe or PayPal). The cancellation must be completed directly from your own account.
Important: Even after cancelling, your access will remain active until the end of your current billing period. There are no additional charges after that.
If you currently have an active subscription, purchase links for other plans are temporarily hidden to prevent duplicate subscriptions. In most cases, you can upgrade to the Pro plan after your current subscription expires. If you prefer to use the Pro plan immediately, you may register a new account using a different email address. If you do so, please remember to cancel your existing subscription separately.
Mid-cycle plan changes (for example, from the Standard Plan to the Pro Plan) are not supported due to technical limitations in how our payment and account systems are integrated. This is not a policy decision — we would support upgrades if it were technically possible.
To avoid duplicate subscriptions or billing issues, checkout links for other plans are hidden while an active subscription is in place.
If you wish to upgrade, please wait until your current subscription expires and then subscribe to the new plan. Alternatively, you may register a new account with a different email address for immediate access.
